About Yard & Yon

Hi, I'm Mark, and I have a confession - I'm not an outdoorsy person. I don't hike. I don't camp. But nature? Nature finds me everywhere I go, and I've stopped trying to escape it. Now I actively seek it out.

On my morning dog walks I'm the person who stops mid-stride to photograph the ducks and their ducklings on the pond, the swan drifting across the water, the wildflowers growing along the path, or a sunrise that just stops me in my tracks. There's beauty in all of it, and once you start noticing it, you can't stop.

Years ago, my wife Tracy and I visited Alaska for the first time. I wasn't prepared for what I felt standing there - not just the vast, breathtaking scenery, but the bald eagles. I took more pictures than I can count. (You can see one of my favorites above) It was one of those moments where nature just grabs you by the shoulders and reminds you how remarkable this world is.

That's the spirit behind Yard & Yon. Whether it's the cardinal at your backyard feeder or a humpback whale breaching off the coast of Hawaii, we believe every encounter with the natural world deserves to be celebrated. We make shirts for people like us - the ones who feel that deep admiration for nature, near and far. From the backyard to far yonder. For those who stop and look.

The Community

Yard & Yon was never meant to just be a shirt store. It's a gathering place for people who share this passion. We'll be sharing our own photos here - real moments from our backyard and beyond - and we'd love for you to share yours too. Because the best part of loving nature is that there's always more of it to discover, and more people to discover it with. The pictures at the top are some of the thousands I've taken from right outside my backdoor to far, far beyond.

Please feel free to send us your pictures of your connections to nature - no matter where, from your yard to the far yonder. If you could tell us the story behind your picture(s) we'd love to share it with the world. You can send your pictures to friends@yardandyon.com
